Course Overview
This beginner’s course is an introduction to the Lee Family Taoist arts. Through this journey, you’ll explore foundational practices that harmonise the body, mind, and spirit. Over the course, we’ll dive into three transformative techniques designed to cultivate balance, energy, and well-being.
Taoist Yoga
Taoist Yoga or Kai Men is an ancient practice that encourages relaxation and openness in the body. Harmonised breath and movement open the muscles, tendons and ligaments, promoting the flow of the body’s natural energy.
Breathwork
Dao Yin exercises teach deep diaphragmatic breathing that energises the body, drives the qi and boosts vitality. This benefits the whole organism by increasing lung capacity and strengthening the respiratory system.
Tai Chi
The Square Yard Tai Chi form is an ancient set of movements that embodies principles of nature and represents thousands of years of accumulated Taoist knowledge. You will be taught these step by step.

“It’s hard in the modern world to find a moment of stillness with constant phone notifications, emails and social media feeds. These classes grant me an hour to focus on my body, still my mind, breathe and reset. I’ve found them really helpful for regaining perspective and lowering stress – definitely recommend!”

“One of the best, most kind and patient teachers is found right here in Billy! Such a welcoming class perfect to de-stress ready for the rest of the week. Great for anyone who needs to get out of their own head and get a full body and mind workout :D”
Tamara
“Through your guidance, I feel physically stronger and fitter. It’s also great work for mindfulness, concentrating on the exercises means we don’t allow our mind to wander (and you often remind us!). I’m in my seventies and thoroughly recommend your classes and I do hope I’m able to continue learning for a long time.”
