“For me Lishi is not only self defence or yoga but a holistic way of learning to know myself. Any other classes I have attended, and that is many, only focused on one aspect of my being but Lishi has an integrative approach that is unparalleled. I have benefited enormously in ways that I did not expect. It has increased my self-knowledge and self confidence greatly. It has not only increased my flexibility, stamina and strength but taught me a whole new way of relating to the world. Thank you. I warmly recommend Lishi classes to everyone.”

“I recommend Lishi to anyone of any age. It provides tremendous benefits on so many levels and areas. You name your area of concern, and there are exercises to help improve it. Its holistic approach has been tried and tested and is apparent when practicing and feeling the overall improvements. It is an amazing system that I’ve benefited from in many ways including stress-relief, strength, balance, focus, overall health, and by experiencing things I didn’t know I could do or feel. Most importantly, all of the benefits come while having good fun. The teachers are a blessing.”

“There are so many reasons that people take Lishi up, and also so many ways it can help, that I think most people should give it a go! I think it improves co-ordination, flexibility, stability, confidence and lung capacity. And I have only been going for four weeks… The totality of the system, in that it is a whole culture and for some a belief, means that everyone will find some part of Daoism that they can either benefit from or appreciate.”

“Lishi has a positive effect on every area of my life: my body is healthier and fitter, my emotions and thoughts are calmer and my mind is more alert. I especially love the variety of exercises and the experience of Chi in its various forms. Whether it is Tai Chi form or partner exercise – there is so much to discover and to integrate in my everyday life. I wish that everyone had the chance to discover the benefits of Lishi”

“I have spent all my working life in education of one sort or the other and yet had never experienced the ‘magic’ of the Lishi teaching/learning context. It’s a bit magical and opens you to imagining what you are capable of.”

“We ran a five week course of Lishi for our design team and noticed positive differences in how the team worked together and were more creative on the days when we’d started with Lishi. The teachers were very professional and quickly helped our stressed managers to relax and feel energised and happy.”

“Having spent quite some years in a dance environment, I was looking for something to replace that, without putting the impact on my joints dance had. I was quite surprised how I felt after taking my first Lishi Tai Chi class. Firstly, I felt exuberant and I was surprised how flowing the Lishi was, while still giving a gentle but deep muscle workout. My body felt loose and warmed up afterwards. Spiritually, I felt free and relaxed and I would recommend the experience to everyone.”

“Two months ago I came to Odense as Erasmus student looking for something else in order to develop myself and by myself… something that the University didn´t teach me, and I found your Lishi classes, I really enjoy them! I think it is really interesting what you are teaching and it helps me to conect with my own nature… After practising it I really feel more energy than before and I just love it! going to your classes is connecting with myself! Thank you!”

“Lishi is not what I expected at all, its so much better than I thought it would be. The teacher and class are really friendly and welcoming, there’s a lot of variety and everything is kept light hearted and good fun. There’s no pressure to be competitive or perfect, the class is a really positive respectful environment and Lishi is completely unique and different to anything I’ve ever done before. I would recommend anyone of any age to come along and try it.”

“Each class is different and is made up of a variety of activities, both solo and partner work. The teacher is great – really down to earth and full of enthusiasm for her practice.”

“What I’ve found about Lishi is that I’m not only fitter and more flexible but the surprise is that I am able to be more successful and happy in my life. It is the practice of these arts that has given me a precisely balanced approach to life.”

“I started last year and I found it extremely relevant to my dance and somatic practice. It is such a rich practice as it draws from different Chinese disciplines and Daoist philosophy.”

“If you are into contact improv, there is a lot of partner work in Lishi that can open up for you new ways of listening to others, relating, being in dialogue and moving and transforming energy.”

“It is a deep and thorough body mind grounding practice. I am really enjoying being in a studio with non dancers who have an amazing body-mind knowledge.”

“Come and give it a go! I would say try at least few classes as you won’t be able to get a real sense of what it is just from one session as the practice is quite vast…and if you don’t come long enough you don’t get to the most exciting bits!…the sabers !! and Qi Shu – gripping, throwing and rolling similar to Aikido.”
